Extruded aluminum track has become a popular addition on machine tables and fences because of its versatility — a variety of accessories like hold downs, stop blocks, and guides can be attached with simple T-bolts.

Incra takes the track to another level. Their fence system gives you precise and repeatable positioning by eliminating one source of human error: lining up stop blocks with a scale. Rather than depend on your eye, they incorporate a 32TPI rack in their track and stop block for measurement-free positioning.


The rack system allows you to position their stop repeatably within 1/1000″ of an inch, but you’re not limited to just 1/32″ steps. You can adjust the stop anywhere between to teeth with a micro-positioning screw.

The fence track comes in 18″, 36″, and 52″ lengths. With five different T-slots and other mounting holes, you can mount the fence to almost any table. If you work in Metric, you can also buy the track and stop with a tooth spacing of 1mm rather than 1/32″.

Here’s the downside: This system is a bit pricey compared to other track systems. An 18″ section of track with stop will run you $53. The 36″ and 52″ sections with stops cost $73 and $83, respectively.

    ya i just purchesed from rockler the incra miter 1000hd. was on sale for 120 down from 190 or something. can’t wait till it gets here. it has that toothed track on it

    I have the Incra Miter 1000SE with Telescoping Fence and its very nice to use on the table saw. Simple, accurate and everything is very refined on it. Worth the cost I think.

    Accurate they may be, but a time consuming pia in my opinion.

    EVERY time you want to do a stop-block assisted cross cut, you have to loosen two screws, disengage the “teeth”, slide, engage and re-tighten.

    Standard miter gauge sliding stop blocks are much faster to use and while maybe not accurate to 1/256th of an inch, accurate enough at +/- 1/64th of an inch easily.

    Want make a cut? loosen, slide and tighten – you’re done.

    Perhaps Incra should make a quick-lock and spring-loaded mechanism, where the blocks are held together with a spring mechanism that allows them to be pulled apart and slid for quick adjustment, and some sort of lock that fixes it in place…
