It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s SUPER TRACK! All right, Super Track won’t save your kitten up a tree, but it might just save you a trip to the store to buy T-slot bolts. Rather than use special T-slot bolts, Super Track allows you to use regular hex bolts for your fixtures and to hold the track down.

The extruded aluminum track has seven different slots: two on one side, three on the other, and one on each end.  The tracks accept 1/4″ hex nuts or bolts and 7/16″ wide oval nuts. To fasten the track you drill through the surface, place some 1/4″ hex head bolts into the hole, slide the Super track over the bolt heads, and use nuts on the backside to hold the track down. Besides being convenient, Woodpeckers claims that the track will have less tendency to pull out than if it was fastened from the top like other T-tracks.

Available in 6″, 12″, 24″, 36″, 48″, and 60″ lengths, a 6″ length of Super Track will run you $13 and the 12″ length will run you $20 –  after that add $10 for every 12″ more. Woodpeckers also sells custom lengths over 60″ for about $1.25 per inch.

    Okay, I’ll be the first:

Good idea! Why didn’t someone think of this before!

    Then:

Thirty bucks for 2 feet? Seems kinda’ pricey for a not-very-elaborate aluminum extrusion.

  2. Phil says:

Seems rather expensive to me, but a good idea.

  3. Jerry says:

Very slick item but, as Toolhearty said, “Seems kinda’ pricey”.

  4. Jay Swift says:

You know, you can use regular old carriage bolts in T-slots. You just have to put them in the T-slot before you put your workpiece down.
