It’s Just Cool: Feathered Beer Opener

We were witness to what may have been the world’s best way to get a free beer at the Stanley Texas Motor Speedway event last week. This gentleman strolls up to the event tent with a large cockatoo on his wrist and says the bird can open a beer with his beak. It’s a great conversation starter, to say the least.
Of course, the first thing everyone does is run to find him a beer. Sure enough, the bird takes several tries at it but finally does manage to get the beer open. This may well be the smartest man alive and the most expensive beer opener we’ve ever seen.
So, in conclusion, if you are a beer-loving bumpkin that hangs around motorsport event campgrounds, get a big bird that likes the same things you do.

Bird Flu!
Cockatiel cocktail?
Psst! That’s a cockatoo. Cockatiels are much smaller.

Thanks for the correction. Size matters, when dealing with cock-whatevers. (Yeah, I’m going to H3LL.)
Eww, after seeing my bird pick its own crap off a perch, crap in it’s own water and food the last thing I want to see is its beak touching the opening of my beer bottle.
Looks like a Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo. They’re not quite as uncommon down here:

We have parrots at our house; nothing this big, thank goodness. they are much more clever then folks give them credit for being……..:)
My friend had one of these birds that could do exactly the same thing but his one could speak too. So when you came in the bird would say “want a beer” and then proceed to open it for you. I think he still has it and the birds Name was BUD
