From The Flickr Pool: Kid Bookshelves

Want a set of those nice, wide-display bookshelves you see in the kid-friendly sections of libraries and high-end bookstores? TM reader litcritter did, too. So he built his own, pictured above.
Hopefully he’ll stop by here and give us a few more details, but we can tell a bit from the pictures: That looks like reasonably-priced oak ply to us, with oak trim. Of course with that sweet work area at his disposal, I bet this isn’t the only project he’s got cooking right now. Look at that awesome worktable — and plenty of scrap around the shop begging for use in future furniture.
The best part, though: His caption. “One for us, one for an auction at our daughter’s school.”
Generosity rules. Kudos, sir.

Awesome job on these book racks! Another kudos for the offering up one of them to help out the school!
Awesome! I needed that when my kids were small! Those large, thin kids books don’t stand up well in an ordinary bookcase (many don’t even fit…too tall). This would have been great.
