Dealmonger: DeWalt Cement Siding Shears

Used for cutting (obviously) cement siding board and backerboard, cement siding shears will handle siding up to 1/2″ thick. Coastal Tool has the DeWalt D28605 Cement Siding Shears for $189.00.
The two side blades are reversible for double the life (although doesn’t the center blade then wear out first?). The head can swivel on the body. The reviews on Amazon [What’s This?] are a bit mixed, but that’s par for the course for DeWalt.

I really wish things like this would be add-ons for existing tools instead of a compelte new tool. Do I really need 5 different drill bodies with different heads?
Yes. Yes you do.
And each one should have at least one laser to guide it.
yeah it would be nice for a company to make a kits with like 3-5 of these in it that use the drill driver as a PTO

We have been using the Kett version of this tool for some time now. Kett also sells heads separate from their drivers – but I’m not sure that they are mix and match.
does anyone know where i can get just the cutters for cement shears
We use both the Kett version of these and a Makita fiber-cement saw attached to a HEPA vac. The shears stay in the toolbox nearly all the time. They’re probably fine for cement-board underlayment, but the cut is a little ragged for siding.

This looks like a really handy tool for cutting backerboard.
The building industry will be a better place with this tool available
