Dealmonger: Delta 6pc. Spindle Turning Tools $130

CPO is selling this six-piece set of Delta Turning Tools for $130. The set includes a 3/4″ Roughing Gouge, 3/8″ Spindle Gouge, 3/4″ Oval Skew, 3/16″ Diamond-Section Parting Tool, 1/2″ Round-Nose Scraper, 1″ Square-End Scraper. Made of HSS, it’s a useful set for beginning turners.

Buy tools as you need them for what you do. Everyone I know that has bought one of these sets used maybe 2 or 3 tools out of the set and never touched the others.

Yeah… these sets are mostly crap. The tools are too light, the steel is not good enough, the handles are too short. I mostly re-ground my set like this for other uses, like I re-ground a skew-chisel to cut a dovetail shape which I use only occaisonally.
