GirlGear Model 69 ToolBelt

By Paul Lapczynski

The pink belt is in style — hopefully just with the women, but you never know.  When I showed my wife a set that includes a small tool kit, tool belt, and hard hat, all in pink, she wanted them instantly. The prices are reasonable enough, so if you share tools with a group it might be worth it to stick one of your buddies with the pink belt;  that’ll teach ‘em to run into the worksite late.

GirlGear makes a few different versions, including a mini model and a pink ribbon edition that benefits the fight against breast cancer — bet that’s a word you never thought you’d hear on Toolmonger!  The 69 has four main pockets for nails or tools; six smaller pockets for nail sets, pencils, screwdrivers, and the like; and two tool loops for hammers or drills. It’s made of heavy-duty suede leather with a poly web belt and a quick-release buckle.

The GirlGear Model 69 toolbelt adjusts for “hips” 30″ to 47″ and costs about $24.

Model 69? Is there a reason for that model number?

Geez, no kidding. That’s like when Nike introduced a women’s running shoe named the “Incubus” a few years back.

Russ - click on the Amazon Link, it’s the model they sell. I guess the first 68 models were flops?

The fact that it is pink my wife might go for, she does have some work boots that are a much brighter pink than this which she thought were super cool, but “Model 69″?!?! That’s just embarrassing. Somewhere at GirlGear there is a Bevis and Butthead dude giggling to himself.
