There's a bunch of in progress shots. I posted some of them to Toolmonger's Flickr site and there's a few more on mine. Easy enough to get my photostream from Toolmonger's. Thanks everyone for your compliments.

Does txinkman put any inprogress pics up there on flickr? Love to see a step by step or some how-to's on this stuff.

And that hardware is gooood-lookin'. Kill to have a toolbox that looked like that. Great reason to have a toolbox in the bedroom, right by the jewelry box.

ek, I thought the same thing. I thought the post was going "txinkman has a talent for tool boxes that he applied to his wife's jewelry box." Color me shocked.

Re:
Chris Farley Says:
Do you guys know….
------------------------------

ww.gerstnerusa.com is one company still commercially producing wooden machinist chests,
://toolmonger.com/2008/03/05/gerstner-tool-chest/

There are a lot of Chinese knock offs.

If you really want a custom hand built chest, there are a few cabnitmakers making them, You'll probably pay over $1000 for one though.

Then there is ww.machinistchest.com for a source of used chest (parts too) and of course Ebay.

I find it sad that no one makes originals that are this sturdy and made to last - everything is either sturdy and ugly or pretty and useless.

Does you guys know if this is a specialty box of some sort? The felt lining and burled wood seems a bit extravagant for a hammer and screwdrivers.
