By Nick Carter

Dynamite Tool Co. is selling this Stanley Adjustable Bullnose Rabbet Plane for $23.  In addition to planing rabbets, this’ll come in handy anywhere you need a nice small plane that can cut close to the front of the tool.

Small inexpensive planes can be very useful tools. My trim carpenters mostly use Lie-Nielsen 60-1/2 ‘s on fine fitting work – but wouldn’t think of using them outdoors to trim a shingle. I can’t recall how many Stanley 12-101’s we’ve bought for 5 or 6 bucks to suit that latter purpose. They sure beat out using the $150+ Lie-Nielsen in the rain or dropping it off staging into the mud.
