Dealmonger: Pipe-Heating Cable $18

ANTOnline is selling this 3′ pipe-heating cable for $18. If you live in the US this week, chances are your pipes have already frozen — but if you’d had one of these cables wrapped around your pipe, it might’ve kept the water flowing.

I would avoid these things, seems like every year I see a house burn down and faulty heat tape was the culprit. Better off, just insulating the area properly. When it really dips down to be on the safe side, I just run the hot water, slight drip overnight.
