Lowe’s Drill Down
By Sean O'Hara
Between now and Xmas Lowe’s will be marking down a different item every day, and the discount’s only available online and only for a day. Lowe’s has dubbed it their Daily Drill Down.
Sure, it’s a bit on the hokey side, but the last two items have been half-off, and that’s not bad considering you never have to set foot in the increasingly busy brick-and-mortar locations. Keep an eye out if you’re shopping for stocking stuffers.
Drill Down Promo [Lowe's]

I saw this promo a couple days ago. It sucks. Day #1 was $2 off a dog kennel. Today’s is $4 off a 6″ fiberglass flower pot. I can barely contain my excitement at the ones of dollars I could save off items nobody is thinking of buying!!
Since they show you the outline of the future semi-bargains to be had I’m having fun trying to guess what the items will be. Here’s what I’ve got so far:
Day 4: No clue. Possibly a giant Lego person head.
Day 5: Possibly a power wrench, which would be interesting, but I’m guessing they’ll only offer $1 off on actually desirable items.
Day 6: Mixer.
Day 7: No clue. All I know is that it’s cylindrical — slightly barrel shaped, actually. Will it be a mini-keg of Heineken? Probably not.
Day 8: A freakin’ tea kettle. Be sure to drink your Ovaltine!
Day 9: A cat carrier.
Day 10: A coffee maker. Yawn.
Day 11: I’m guessing one of those multi-bit sets.
Day 12: Last year’s LiOn cordless driver.

Day 4 is a waffle maker, George Foreman grill, or similar I think.
Day 5 is, as you suggest, almost certainly the Skil Power Wrench. Note that last year these were discounted to as little as $20 after Christmas.
Day 9 looked like a tool box or bait box to me, but I think you’re right.
The timer from yesterday looked good to me at nearly 1/2 off. I doubt that Day 12 will be discounted enough for me to be interested, but who knows.

Funny how they post sillouettes of products and they are nothing like what people thought they were.
Day 4 turns out to be grill tools
Day 5 is a tea kettle
Day 8 a garage door opener
Day 11 is completely different from what it started as and I have no clue what it might be, maybe a tire gauge?

Actually, what’s really strange is that they change things afterwards as well.
Day 5 *WAS* the Skil Power Impact Power Wrench for $29.95.
Note that $29.95 is now their current price.
I know day 4 wasn’t grill tools initially either (nor was it anything SuperJ or I said), but I can’t recall what it was now — a power inflator I think.
