This is an excellent drill but do not buy it. I have a Ridgid combo set which as far as the tools go is excellent but the lifetime warranty stinks! I have made numerous trips to the local service center trying to get the batteries replaced but can get no service from them. I am going to throw away the tools and charger and buy a Milwaukee set. It does not have a lifetime warranty, but they do not advertise one ether. I have lost faith in Ridgid and will never buy another one of their tools. Warranty service should not be this hard!

The lifetime warranty - on the batteries - is a royal PITA. The warranty is only as good as the contracted service centers providing warranty service. I had two 24v Li Ion batteries that died on me. It took me three weeks and trips to two separate service centers to get the whole mess straightened out.

Good luck trying to buy Ridgid batteries outright. If you can find them, they are quite expensive. Ebay might be a solution, but with battereis, you ever know what youre gonna get...

Just be sure that, if you want the lifetime warranty, you need to make sure the tool is covered, then register within 90 days of purchase. They will send you a registration number in 6-8 weeks, and that number is required for any future lifetime warranty work. It also requires sending the tool back to Ridgid pre-paid for service. Otherwise, it looks like a reasonable deal.

add in the lifetime warranty - even on the batteries - and this starts to look like a good deal http://www.ridgid.com/Tools/Power-Tool-Warranty
