GENTLEMEN: YOU HAVE THIS ALL WRONG!!! This is a fine little gadget when used for its proper purpose, to hold small pieces on a ROUTER OR SHAPER table. Hold it in two hand by both handles and ROUTE or SHAPE the small piece held in between.

The comments posteda bout being unsafe are on a table saw are correct.

That front handle looks way too close to the blade for me. I'd rather use my Incra miter gauge for a cut like the one in the illustration. I suspect it's a lot more accurate than the Finger Saver, too. I guess it's all a matter of using what you're comfortable with, and if you're comfortable with this, that's great. I just don't think I would be.

I have one, and it's quite sturdy. The brass knob on the movable piece lifts up so you can move it freely back and forth, and then you drop it down onto the threads and use the aluminum knob to tighten it down.

I can see the benefit - honestly, this turns your table saw into a much more accurate tool for miters, and for $20, well, you cant get a very accurate miter saw for that. The attraction would be for the hobbyist or homeowner (who, by the way, most likely won't have a biesemeyer fence!)

For this size work - I would think most folks would opt for using a miter saw.

For larger work there is nothing better than using a sliding table saw.

This thing doesn't LOOK all that sturdy to me, but if it is, I think it's a great idea. I have a lot more faith in my rip fence than I do in my miter...guage?...gage?...well, I don't know how to spell it.
