FYI..... no respectable IT department would go anywhere NEAR that thing!! If it's med equipment maintenance, inspection, and repair, call the BIOMED GUYS! (and gals!).

Proud to be in clinical engineering 11 years and recently certified!

I've seen (on TV, granted, not in real life) everything from Craftsman to Snap-On used as storage in hospitals. I always keep a lookout in the background to see what they are using!

I use one in my home office as a cabinet base. I wish I would have gone with a ball bearing version instead of the cheap glides. I store disc, basic hand tools, camera equiptment, cables, etc in it.

Craftsman carts are used throughout our surgery dept. by the Anes. Drs. and their CRNAs. They are very reliable, versitile, and can take the punishment that our staff inflict upon them. I often say that if you gave a rubber mallet and an iron anvil to surgery, you will end up with two piles of dust in minutes. (I have to repair the equipment they "damage".)

You have it exactly right. The crash, utility and other 'hospital grade' carts pushed by medical supply company's are insanely priced. My favorite scams are the 'laptop carts' that go from $1500-2000'ish. They are basically a chair base with an articulating arm.
