		<description>When I was a kid, we would use the hose like the road crews mentioned in the article.  Turn on the hose and start pushing it into the ground.  One time I got over 6 feet deep then the hose got hung up on a root and wouldn't come out.  My dad had to cut the hose off at the ground then attach a new male end.  There was no joy in our house that night as daddy was not happy.</description>

I read somewhere that 85% of a trees roots are in the top 3' of 
soil.  the only time you see this is when a tree is blown over.  This tool is 37 inches long, so it hits the spot.

With everything else, you would only need to go down about a 1'</description>
