Protect Your Eyes Inside And Out
By Eric Dykstra
If you’ve ever worked on a job site where you’re outdoors as well as indoors, you might find yourself choosing between clear vision and proper eye protection. Tinted specs blind you indoors, and clear lenses don’t help with the glare outside. SmartLens safety glasses incorporate the same auto-dimming materials found in prescription specs, for safety glasses that dim in just 30 seconds.
SmartLens glasses offer a mild tint indoors, blocking just 22% of light in dim conditions, but in the blazing sun, they’ll block up to 77% of the light. Regardless of lighting conditions they filter 99.9% of harmful UV light, and they meet or exceed ANSI Z87.1 impact standards. Spring-loaded temple springs and a soft, adjustable nose bridge provide all-day comfort.
Street pricing is about $45.

I am in the market for a pair of safety glasses. This is quite innovative. It would be good to know the mm width as I normally wear a larger size.

Nice product, but not very cost effective for something I go through 4-5 pairs a year.

I know target shooters who compete at both indoor and outdoor ranges.

AOSafety also has these - called the Smart Lens. Our county bought theirs through Grainger and issued them out to us back in early spring. UPC 78371-13407

Does any one make no line (progressive) bi-focal safety glasses. Seems like tere would be a great market for that.
