Will someone please help me out? I am writing a fiction about a 7500 acre ranch. If the ranch is square, how much distance would it stretch in each direction. And how long would it take to ride around it on horseback to check the fences?
I could use some detailed descriptions on fence mending, hay bailing, mineral licks, and all other ranch chores. Please help! I just started this book and am already stuck.

I've also used a fence stretcher as a clamp/compressor to install coilover shocks commonly found as steering stabilizers on heavy trucks.

A Goldenrod is an old time tool that works - and there is a deluxe 415 model - but there are other ways to approach the job.

Chain Grabs - or wire grippers an a come-along are another way to go. Or if you just have some sag - maybe a Daisy tensioner will work. Out our way I see lots of strainers on fencing to pick up the slack. If folks have a need - here is one site that sells farm fence supplies:

And a welder is a complicated electrical short. Still does a job that we need it to do that would otherwise be very difficult.
