Crayons Aren’t Just For Kids
By Benjamen Johnson
Sometimes a pencil isn’t the marking tool of choice — when you need long-lasting, weatherproof markings on wood, concrete, ceramics, metal, or just about any other surface, grab yourself a lumber crayon. These crayons also mark oily, slick, and wet surfaces.
You can get these non-toxic lumber crayons from Irwin in red, blue, green, black, white, and yellow. They’re sold singly, in two-packs, in six-packs, and in twelve-packs of the same color.
At slightly less than a buck for a single crayon or $7 for a twelve-pack, these crayons cost a bit more then Crayolas — so keep the kids away from your stash.

how are these different from Crayolas?

Well aside from being bigger — 4.5″ long — they say Irwin so your buddies at the job site don’t make fun of you.
I’m not sure if packaging is the only difference or not.

Oh yeah, they’re hexagonal too so they don’t roll, but iIknow they make kids crayons that have a flat side for the same reason.

If your going to be playing with crayons I would suggest getting a crayon holder, Crayons have a very short life unprotected in your tool pouch or pocket.

I’d go with C.H. Hanson’s Crayon Armor.
