Dealmonger: Ratcheting Screwdriver 130-Piece Set $12
By Brad Justinen
This set probably won’t replace any of your other tools, but it’s definitely worth grabbing one to keep in the trunk or on the boat. The set includes a universal ratchet driver, 12 SAE drive sockets, 12 metric drive sockets, 20 hex drive sockets, 17 slotted drive bits, seven star drive bits, four pozi drive bits, four Phillips drive bits, four square drive bits, a 42-piece picture-hanging kit, and a carrying case.
You can get it from ToolsNow, via Amazon, for $5 — add $7 for shipping and handling, for a total of $12.

I’ve had this kit — or it’s evil twin — for a number of years. Mine’s a bright, high-vis shade of blue.
It’s junk, but I’ve probably used it a hundred times or more. If something needs to be turned, and the right tool cannot be found within 2 minutes, I almost always end up using this.
And… it works.
It’s a bad habit I can’t break.

Junk. Stay away. I have several of these - from previous lapses in reason.

I bought this once (I have a local toolsnow which very recently was Cummins). Basically everything they sell is crap, but this set is ultra crap. The bits slip as if they are made out of aluminum. Don’t waste a penny on it. If you’re going to buy cheap, at least buy Harbor Freight which has some fairly nice sets.

Heh. You *know* it must be bad when someone says “buy Harbor Freight instead”.
