Thanks for the positive comments guys. Not shown in the pics very well, the Sched 40 fits over a disc mounted on each top and bottom plate, made from 3/4 MDF. Now, I've used tons of power tools and cutting devices, but I have never been truly as terrified as using that wing-circle-cutter thingy on my drill press. If anyone has the key to adjustable circle cutters (I think it's time to invest in a Jasper router circle cutter) I'm open to suggestions. At any rate, the pipe fits over the mdf circe and is sealed with silicone, so I HOPE it doesn't leak. With the tension of the allthread, i don't think I'll have a problem, but I'll surely report back in the case of failure.

BTW, while I'm still a HUGE fan of Formby's Tung Oil Finish and wax, I gave the Sapele ply a few coats of Danish on Sean's suggestion, and I have to say, it holds a close second. But Sean, give Formby's a go on something you really want to bring the wood out on (i.e. not looking for tint like some of the Danish offers - I used "natural" on this one).
