The Container Store isn't a great bargain. If you're looking for cheap cases I'd suggest American Science and Surplus or eBay. eBay has a ton of power tool hard cases (especially DeWalt for some reason). You might find the actual case for your tool but if not you can spend some time with a Dremel and foam to make a custom case.

You can get these things at The Container Store. I do no know how the prices compare.

One thing to remember is that no foam lasts forever. Even the best, most expensive, jewel-like Halliburton cases have this warning. They say right up front that their foam is volatile, has a finite lifespan, and can damage the case contents when it begins to turn into sticky black goo.

I'll have to repost later where I bought my cases. I got a scad of them to store tools, etc. and the price I paid was a real bargin.

Mike_D, I bought a roll of 2 1/2" and a roll of 1" foam from eBay and cut it to size for each box. As I remember it too was cheap and cost low enough for a mistake or two.

It doesn't seem right that the foam inserts that go into the cases are more expensive than the cases themselves.
