		<description>Thanks guys!  Yes it's solid Lacewood.  My local supplier had a 9', 8/4 board about 8" wide in their exotics pile and I got it for about $100 (pretty good here in Los Angeles).  Cut in half and glued up I ended up with just under 4" slab.  My house is relatively contemporary, so I didn't want it too fancy - plus the wood is just so unbelievably beautiful it didn't need much.  The pictures don't even do it justice.

I'm a big fan of layering finishes (I think you posted my Norm-inspired recipe for some mahogany veneer speakers I built).  This one is 2 coats of 50% cut amber shellac, 5 coats of Formby's Tung Oil finish, and 2 coats of dark brown Briwax (the tinted wax really made the grain pop!).</description>
