Are you the type of Toolmonger who has an assortment of tools on you at all times? Can you loan someone a pen, cut open a package, and fix a pair of eyeglasses at a moment’s notice? Then Commando tools might make a nice addition to your everyday carry arsenal.

Commando Products makes a line of tools that can travel easily in your pocket, housed in colorful anodized aluminum tubes around a 1/2” in diameter and about 5” long. You can get precision drill sets, screwdriver kits, precision oilers, or scrapers. With a built-in chuck, the carrying tube doubles as the handle for the variety of bits inside.

The precision drill set includes six drill bits (#52, 56, 60, 66, 70, and 74), a punch, and an awl, all housed in a 7/16” x 3-13/16” tube with a pocket clip. All of this will run you $12 from Amazon. If you’re looking for more precision pocket tools, check out Commando’s website.

Small drill holders also make excellent pin vices. Ever had to hold something small and round firmly?

We carry a set of small number drills, a pin vise and an adjustable orifice reamer with us to service gas appliances and hvac equipment. I’ve also found a pilot claening pump made by the J H Leavey Co to work OK for cleaning out those pesky spider webs that (really tiny spier mites) form in some gas jet orifices.
