Dealmonger: DeWalt Heavy-Duty 18V Cordless Wet/Dry Vac $130
By Stephen Cooke
I wish most trades people would carry this tool in their kit — cleaning up the aftermath never seems be part of the job or in the quote. Toolup is selling this DeWalt heavy-duty, 18V, cordless, wet/dry, portable vacuum for $130.
This wet and dry vacuum is a lightweight at 7.4 lbs, and with a 1/2 gallon tank it won’t require constant emptying. The dual clean-up feature allows use of either the front nozzle or an extendable rubber hose.
The washable HEPA filter traps dust as tiny as 0.3 microns, so it’s good for most job functions. The vacuum runs on an 18V DeWalt battery with a one hour charge time. And the best part: you can clean up as you work.

Pros:
-I got another 18V battery (comes w/ one)
-hose is perfect for getting O’s out of my truck seats that the kids drop
-super portable
Cons:
-LOUD…like LOUD LOUD.

Same here, except the part about the O’s because we don’t have kids or a truck
It’s perfect for cleaning up after small jobs.

Obligatory snide remark :
Now doesn’t that just suck.

I have it. I use it all the time. I now never use the larger
18v /plug in/charger model.

This thing is an even better deal for $103.93 at amazon.com with free shipping. That’s cheaper than wholesale…

Lowes around here (Detroit) have been clearing this kit out for $99 for months now.
I bought one and modified it to take Bosch 18 volt batteries instead.
It’s a great design, but too damn loud and doesn’t really have as much suction as it ought to.
But Bosch makes nothing like it and it’s better than bringing a full size vac into a clients house for a few odd jobs.

My kit is Crafstman. It came with a small vacuum - not wet or bulky like this - but I scoffed at the idea. “Never gonna use that”, I thought. Well, after nearly killing myself on sawdust on a laundry room floor one day, I thought “Might as well use that stupid little vacuum.” Now I carry it into every job. I clean as I got and I get a lot of compliments.

I have the larger one and I use it all the time for small jobs. No dustpan lines with this thing!

If it had an output nozzle too, it’d make a hell of a mean air mattress inflator while camping. Of course, if my inflator antics are any indication (forced campfire induction –> melting glass and pennies while roasting weenies from 2 feet out), maybe the last thing we need is more gadgets on a campsite.
