Re:
I had this same drill as my first “real” drill and it was decent until the batteries crapped out and the cost to replace two batteries was more than the drill.
====================================================
You guys don't keep your old drills? I've got a few that just won't die. Milwaukee and Makita 9.6s. and a couple of Milwaukee 12s

        Batteries are rebuildable, brushes and bearings replaceable. Why let a good tool die?
It is always nice to have a back up or loaner, that you aren't forced to rely on. They come in handy when you have a large project and many toolless friends around. Or for those jobs that you know the tool will sustain some damage. Did you know that cordless drills work underwater? Which drill will you use for that? your go to everyday drill or your 10 year old beater?

  I've had great service from www.mtobattery.com for battery rebuilds.

No thanks...I'd rather invest a little more and get a whole lot more for my money. I would buy the Bosch Pocket Driver.

I had this same drill as my first "real" drill and it was decent until the batteries crapped out and the cost to replace two batteries was more than the drill.

I went to a 14.4 Milwaukee and won't go back to DeWalt.
