My first thought upon seeing the picture was "that thing must weigh a ton!", what is that, 3/4" stock? If you don't have to worry about the local delinquents abusing it, it might be worth building wheels right into the cabinet, and/or using lighter material with stiffening ribs on the inside.

The home arcade scene is sure full of interesting people. I've been occasionally following the construction of this masterpiece: http://www.peterhirschberg.com/arcade/gameroom.htm

I'm not sure if I'd call myself exactly jealous, given that my interest lately has been *decreasing* my electric power consumption, but I'm definitely awestruck by the completeness of the project, right down to the payphone.

What a nice surprise to see my project on a site that gets linked by BoingBoing and supports Make. I'll be sure to update the photo pool when this cabinet painted.

I made one of these in college a few years back, while my future wife was studying abroad. Good idea going with the plywood. I used MDF and it makes it so effing heavy the thing is a huge PITA the move. Also, if you haven't already done so, make sure you come up with a good way to open the control panel. I'm looking forward to building another one now that I have access to more tools than a circular saw ;)
