The Sears spyware, while absolutely horrendous, has absolutely nothing to do with Craftsman Club.

Did you even read Schneier’s piece?

And yes, I know computer security well. Not as well as my wife though, who is CISSP certified.

Note, they have finally disabled the software in question, after this info finally reached the general media.

Just don’t install their software and you don’t have to worry about spyware.

I don’t know if Sears has spyware in their Craftsman Club or not.

A few additional comments -

Craftsman’s “mini pliers” are on sale for club members for $3.99 a piece. If you need one or two, this is a great price. For more than two, your best bet is to wait until the 3 piece or 5 piece set is on sale.

Also, all Craftsman bench and stationary tools are on sale - 10% off if you buy one, 15% if you buy two, 20% off each if you buy three. I walked in intending to purchase a 10″ drill press, and walked out with the press and a 10″ miter saw.
