Glove Winner: Storage Bench
By Sean O'Hara

He says it’s not quite done yet, but anyone can see that the level of cool will definitely crank up a notch at JDWires’ place once he brings this custom storage bench inside.
For taking the time to share — and because we dig that JD already built matching small versions of this long bench and decided not to stop there — we’ll send him a pair of work gloves.

Thanks for the interest guys. Unfortunately, I have had to pass them along to a friend for the painting and finishing. I have just accepted a new job requiring us to move (I was laid off 2 months ago) and we have been getting the house ready for the move. It hurts me not to be able to finish them, but in case you were wondering. They are going to be painted black, with a few layers of poly for a great durable finish.
It is a set of four benches that are going to go with a missionary couple from our church. They are going to be used in an orphanage in South Africa. The construction is pretty rugged being a combination of pocket, screws mortise and tenon, and baltic birch plywood.
It will probably be a while before I get to post any more pics, with the move and all. So, I’m glad this one got posted.
