So maybe I'm strange but does anyone else just use their pockets (pants or tool belt)?

These are just a plastic version of what movie set electricians have been doing for years, using grounding clamps as glove clips.

Personally I work in a warehouse environment part of the day, I often handle sheet metal body parts that can easily slice a hand. If i had had one of these i likely wouldn't have a few scars that i a sporting.

For all the reasons that others mention, I think these are a great idea. I'm constantly taking my gloves on & off as I move between the band saw, welder, sander, and forge. I'll usually end up going in circles to retrieve my gloves from where I left them - having a convenient clip would be awesome.

My safety glasses never come off while I'm in the shop so there's no chance of misplacing them :)

I agree with Brian. The only time when I wear gloves is when I weld. It's incredibly bad practice to wear gloves around things that spin (mill, lathe, etc).

Safety glasses are a much more overlooked piece of safety gear. (I guess you can stand to lose one eye)

I know you guys like gloves here, but as a woodworker (not a carpenter), I prefer to stay away from them. Any extraneous clothing or jewelry around a table saw, lathe, or even jointer is not a good idea. In that case, gloves are much more of a liability than a safety device.

Of course, most folks are out in the real world, not in a cozy little shop (I don't even own a reciprocating saw), so I recognize that I'm in the minority here.
