Just because the same company owns them does not mean that they share any commonality. Ryobi tools are built cheap, and with poor quality control, in order to reduce cost and appeal to home owners that don't use their tools regularly. TTI bought Milwaukee in order to give them a brand name to sell higher quality tools to appeal to professionals that use their tools on a daily basis. Milwaukee uses heavier duty components and does more quality control to insure that they work properly, and that higher quality costs more. Ryobi and Milwaukee are not the same tools.
