Glove Winner: In Case Of Zombies…
By Chuck Cage

We laughed for a long time when we saw TM reader and photo pool member Inmarr28’s latest project — the perfect protection against the possibility of mass zombification. What totally seals the deal in our opinion, though, is the way it’s mounted in a perfect Martha Stewart meets Shaun of the Dead style with wrought-iron decorations and candles. Check the photo pool for additional pictures, including some shots during construction.
Though it’ll pale to the enjoyment he’ll get seeing his project on the wall for years to come, we’ll send him a free set of gloves for sharing. We hear they totally prevent blisters when wielding an axe.

I so would love to have that on my wall in the rec room. Everyone should own a “boom stick” just in case.

Thanks guys!
I must say that I can’t take credit for the idea though… A while back, a friend of mine emailed me a photo of one that he had stumbled across on the Internet. Ever since then, I’ve wanted to make one.
I finally managed to scrounge up enough scrap wood from my other projects to do it, so I made a quick trip to Lowes for a piece of plexiglass, then to Wal*Mart for a toy shotgun. You wouldn’t believe how difficult it is to find those these days! I can’t count the number of toy guns I had when I was a kid!
Anyway, I didn’t even think to take pictures while I was making it, but it was pretty straight forward… It’s just a bunch of MDF for the structure, a couple of hinges for the top, and a little bit of trim molding to make the front pretty. I couldn’t find any good stencils for the plexiglass lettering, so I laid it all out in Adobe Illustrator using a “stencil” font, printed the design onto some overhead projector sheets, then cut out all of the letters using a cheap hobby knife.
I’m glad that you guys got a laugh out of my little project, because I can assure you that my wife isn’t laughing with it sitting on our mantlepiece!
Thanks again!

You will need more then 4 shells…
Also I like this version of it better, with the SPAS.

Awesome execution!
Incidentally, the pump shotgun and 4 shells date back to Doom, these were the item and ammunition icons.

That is hilarious and awesome. You should start selling them.
