The Pro Stik Abrasive Disc And Belt Cleaner
By Rick Reimundez
Using fresh sandpaper – particularly sanding belts and discs – can be a joy. But once they get clogged up with pitch and loose sandpaper grit it’s miserable. And if you’re making fine furniture, it can ruin your work as well. Woodstock International’s Pro Stik abrasive cleaner sticks are basically formulated from crepe rubber that easily removes the built up gunk on your favorite abrasive belts and discs.
Just run the stick lightly against the moving belt or disc, and it’ll clean ‘em right up. It comes in various sizes to fit any pretty much any application you might have. They don’t recommend it for wide-belt sanders, but it’s not exactly clear to me why.

On average you’ll pay about $9 for the 2” x 2” x 12” stick – their largest one. Their smallest stick — 1-3/8” x 1-3/8 x 4-1/4” — runs more like $2. Either way, though, you’ll want to shop around to find the best size for your application.

Cheap Toolmongers pick up a pair of crepe soled shoes at the local thrift store…
But for the price of one, and the utility, they are a good buy.

How are these different fron the other cleaning sticks? Are they cheaper? Do they perform better than others?
I guess what I’m getting at is why is this featured? I figured for something to get a nod on the blog was because it stands out from other products in some way.
