A Multi-Tool For Cabinet Makers
By Rick Reimundez
It’s refreshing to see a multi-tool that doesn’t try to be all things to all people. Instead, the Cabinet Jack focuses specifically on cabinet making needs, assisting in tasks like cleaning up hinge mortises and ease edges. Carrying the ‘Jack in your pocket might save you a walk to dig out a corner chisel, plane, marking knife, or some other unitasker.
It includes a detail blade, a 5/16” chisel, a 90 degree corner chisel with a bevel ground on the inside, a shallow gouge, a marking scribe, and a 3/32″ radius cornering tool. It also comes with its own snap-closure leather sheath (with belt loop), slipstrop, and polishing compound. Each blade is made of black-oxidized high carbon steel.

Street pricing starts around $115.

A.G. Russell sells this for substantially less than $115

Chris,
Are you sure about that? All I can find at A.G. Russell is the Carvin’ Jack which is by the same manufacturer, but it’s geared towards wood carvers, and it’s $130.
