Hands-On: Milwaukee’s Contractor Gloves
By Sean O'HaraConclusions

Though we were a bit disappointed by these gloves’ limited heat protection, Milwaukee doesn’t claim these are mechanics gloves, instead marketing them as contractor gloves. Coupled with the way the armor is spread and the fact that the finger tips are squared off but very “grippy,” we can’t help thinking that this was an overall decision on Milwaukee’s part to position the gloves this way.

The Milwaukee Contractor gloves earned a respectable 3.75 out of 5 on our test matrix. Though they weren’t quite what we expected, they are a fine pair of gloves. The lesson: just because they’re black work gloves doesn’t mean they’re best suited for automotive work. Though these gloves could certainly be used that way, their best features like the grippy tips and extra palm protection gravitate toward general contracting work.
