Dealmonger: Craftsman’s 4.8V Impact Driver For $20

By Stephen Cooke

Craftsman 4.8 volt Impact Power Driver

Admittedly, we’ve had poor results with Craftsman’s other 4.8V offerings.  But maybe the impact version overcomes the others’ puny torque output.  Regardless, you can try one out for just $20.  Craftsman claims that with impact action this one can deliver 175 in-lbs of torque at up to 1,800 rpm.  It’s got a two-position handle and quick connect bit holder.

I have one and I don’t think it’s worth 20 dollars. I now use the dewalt screwdriver

I got one a year ago when it was $40. It’s OK. I use it for electronics, not for woodwork, though I occasionally have to mount Cat 5 wallplates with it.
