Hands-On: Irwin’s InnerGrip Work Gloves

By Sean O'Hara

Conclusions

Irwin’s InnerGrip gloves aren’t for sensitive hands.  They protect your hands well against the rigors of hot engine work, but cost you in the comfort department.  They’re relatively well put together, but the inside seams and interior grip studs make them down right uncomfortable to wear.

The tale of the tape:  We gave the InnerGrip gloves an overall score of 2.75 out of a possible 5 on our Toolmonger scale.  The feel of these gloves really knocked the score down.  If Irwin removed the rubber grips on the inside we think they would have scored higher.

IRWIN used to make really high quality stuff… now they’re more hit-or-miss. I’d have to see these gloves in person before I’d buy them….
