I have a few of these too. It is like working next to the sun. No problems with the bulbs going out and I've thrashed mine pretty good.

I have a couple of these too and agree about the quality of the stands. No0t the greatest, but the price is right and if you're like me you'll find a way to work around the stand shortcomings. Regarding bulbs going out when bumped, at least with mine I've not really had that problem at least with occasional light bumps.

I wonder if the bulbs still go out when bumped, I gave up on halogen years ago.

I have a bunch of these exact lights; wish I had only paid $6 for them though. The stands kind of suck; you usually need the lights a lot higher. The cords are also very short. I suggest building an alternate stand system out of some PVC or something and include an extension cord wrap on it. That is what I did.
