Dremel 10.8V Li-Ion Rotary Tool Gets New Batteries

By Chuck Cage

Dremel recently made some changes to their 10.8V li-ion cordless rotary tool.  Specifically, they modified the battery pack to deliver “25 percent more runtime” and changed the pack’s shape to allow the 10.8V to accommodate dovetail-attachments like the FlexLite.

Besides the battery mods, this is the same cordless Dremel you’ve come to love, retailing for just shy of $80 in a package with 40-odd accessories.

We’re always excited to see what Robert Bosch Co. has planned for the 10.8V li-ion power source.  It has a place in all sorts of applications — many of which remain entirely untapped.

One bit of advice, though: even if you opt for the convenience of cordless, make sure you have a corded Dremel as well.  Sometimes you need to work for hours, and there’s no substitute for that unlimited power source in the wall.
