		<description>Yeah Waylan, I had a similar vision of scrap steel and a hole saw.  If somebody was really slick they would make a spacer that hangs down off the pipe and falls between the two boards, to fixture an expansion/drain gap.  Otherwise you would be tightening the clamp with one hand, and holding a spacer nail between the boards with the other.</description>

		<description>With a scrap sheet of steal, a break (a vise and hammer??) and a pipe clamp I already have, I can make my own for a few minutes of my time. Even if I purchase a clamp, it's still less than half the price. Either way, it is an interesting solution to a real problem. Definitely something I'll file away for later reference.</description>
