It’s Just Cool: British Lawnmower Museum
By Sean O'Hara
Think you’re a hard-core mower freak? If you haven’t checked out the British Mower Museum you’re just an “enthusiast.” Of course, if you’re stuck in the States, you can get a partial Mowerhead fix from their website: www.lawnmowerworld.co.uk.
The Mower Museum is one of the worlds leading authorities on vintage lawnmowers and is now the largest import and export specialists in all aspects of antique garden machinery – supplying parts, archiving manuals, and determining the value of machines from all over the world. It also houses a collection of over 200 complete vintage mowers plus parts of 400 more.
If you’re located in the area, contact tour guide Nora — that’s her in the right of the picture above — to get the full-dime tour and the low down on lawn clipping history from years gone by. For the rest of us, there’s the online museum: cyber-onlookers can leaf through the gallery and check out pics of mowers — and even a user manual or two — that’re older your dad.

I just want to MEET an ‘enthusiast’. I certainly don’t count as one, and I have backyard perhaps one of these enthusiasts would really enjoy.

This post somehow reminded me of one of my favorite games for the C64.
