I bought this table from amazon along with a Makita variable speed router back in December. So far I've been pleased with it. Sturdy, intelligent construction - fairly easy setups. I've found that I can do above the table bit changes by raising the router all the way up and pulling out the plastic insert. I'm a full-time carpenter, but don't do a tremendous amount of woodworking.

It's a little small, IMO. I would make a simple router table, get a big 3+ hp router with above table adjust (milwaukee, bosch, freud, or anything with a router raizer) and skip out on the insert plate
