I’ve been thinking about getting this for some remote building projects. I know it’ll run some regular powertools, but does anyone know how well it would be for running a 115v welder (Lincoln SP-125+) for quick little jobs (not any production work)?

This is a pretty good price.
However, not too long ago I came across a self-made generator to live off-the-grid using a 650RPM Lister Generator. Check it out yourself at http://www.psychicworldusa.com/Lister_Gen/Lister1.html.
are these gensets available in india , can you direct to procure them , i am located near chennai
I bought this generator quite awhile ago and it works alright but now it is running really fast for some reason. I don’t know why and there is no power equipment place near me that will work on it.
Ryan, Where are you located? What are you using for fuel? Alot of the small engines are tuned for straight gas, and need to be adjusted slightly for ethanol blends. This is an Onan engine, so check for a local Cummins/Onan shop. They normally work on big trucks and Dodges, but also on the gensets.
