A Small, Powerful Pressure Washer From Italy
By Chuck Cage
A friend recommended this compact Italian pressure washer this weekend after listening to me lament the crappiness of my electric upright model. I was convinced I’d need a large gas-powered model, but after reading about the Annovi Reverberi with its 2 HP motor and ceramic pump plungers, I’m not so sure.
Ceramic plungers and associated connecting rods are more common to industrial units than consumer as they’re much more durable. The 120V TRX model (pictured) drives 2.1 gallons per minute at up to 1450 PSI. One interesting point: the product page (and manual) notes that the TRX “requires a 20A dedicated circuit in order to not trip the GFCI.” So many manufacturers overrate electric motors in their products these days. This type of warning always catches my eye because it’s often an indicator that the product actually is a 2 HP motor and is applied within the product in a way that really delivers that power.
The shape of the TRX works for hand carry, but according to my friend you should really invest in a cart. The manufacturer site doesn’t list weight, but Amazon lists a shipping weight of 60.8 pounds.
Annovi Reverberi is famous in Italy for manufacturing high-pressure pumps — the heart of a pressure washer. Since they make commercial pumps for applications ranging from car washes to gasoline and hydraulic units, I suppose it’s not surprising that they make full pressure washers as well. What’s surprising is that they ship them to the U.S.
Note: We couldn’t find the TRX via Google Products, so we have no idea of true street pricing, but Amazon — which lists it as “in stock soon” — lists it for $300.

Anyone have recommendations for an electric I’d be able to find locally?

This looks awesome. I’ve borrowed a friend’s gas powered washer right now and its so big. I’d like to see this one in person.

Annovi reverberi makes really excellent washer pumps. When the crappy chinese pump on my ryobi pressure washer finally dies, I will be buying an annovi reverberi pump.

I bought the Karcher G 2500 two years ago and don’t know that I could go with an electric unit.
Gas consumption is very minimal, but the increased mobility and performance are well worth it. I can wheel it out of my mud room and only have to lift over the 2 steps.
2.4 GPM
5.5 HP (Honda motor)
dual wheels
4 pressure nozzles
25 ft. pressurized hose
55 lbs.
I bought it on sale at Sam’s Club for $250.

Steve: You and me both. It caught my attention because I’m sick of power washers either being too large or too wimpy to be of any use!
