* > Now I won’t burn down the house next weekend
* > when I give the project another try.

* Does this imply that you inflicted some real damage on your first try?!?
* Do tell!!

Indeed.. it's been a while since we had a good locally submitted "Doh!" of the week. (They seem to all involve YouTube and some thinning of the gene pool.)

Man, can I use one of these or what? I have now re-plumbed my entire house and used mainly either a pancake griddle I stole from the kitchen or a piece of aluminum I had laying in the shed. While it did work and didn't burn the house down :)), it did get very hot removing it afterwards. And on the other hand some advice, aluminum is not thick enough and burns holes!

I'm glad to see it has TWO hanging holes as well which was a problem with my substitutions.

Happy plumbing.

Is that the same shield I got from Home Depot? Heavy tin foil on one side, about 1/2" thick batting (asbestos??) on the other? Though I think the HD one is more like 1 foot by 1 foot -- and I don't recall what I paid for it last year.
