I recently purchased one - best hacksaw ever. For the guy that wanted a thin saw, this hacksaw can be configured to be a "plunge" saw with a special heavy blade extending from the bracket. Also, the standard blade can be connected at 45 degree angle to allow flush or angle cutting.

And it has a magnetic slot to hold both blades in the bracket so you always have one with you.

Got mine from Lowes (after I ran over my old saw with my SUV - it didn't survive!).

I picked one up at Lowes a few months ago and think it's great. The package I bought included blades and an extra "mini" saw that's perfect for cutting off toilet flange screws.

Got mine from Home Depot. Really worth the extra $5 or $10 over other hacksaws.

The thickness of this model is a deal killer for me. The best hacksaw I have is an oldie my dad handed down which I love it because it's thin enough to saw in tight spaces but still very rigid.

My better hacksaw disappeared in the move last year, and I've been making due with my crappy rusty backup, but this just got added to my "must buy" list.

Does anyone know if the big box stores carry it? I'm writing it on my Lowes list just in case, but I'll get it online if they don't.

Thanks, William and Jon, for the detailed info on how it actually works. I would have probably written it off as too pricey and "how could it be worth that" otherwise.

I have this saw as well. I love it. You can have the hacksaw blade at 90 degrees, as well as 45 degrees for flush cuts. You can take the hacksaw blade off, flip the front handle up into a channel in the top of the frame, and put a reciprocating saw blade on the front with a bolt to hold it in place. Use it like a jab saw(think that's the right word). Or with the front handle still up, you can put a 9 in blade in at an angle to the blade stud by the front of the frame, to use as a bow saw. You never know how useful this saw is until you have one. And it is very sturdy.

This is a good saw. My wife made fun of me buying the most expensive hack saw at the store. But I think its great saw. I really like the rubber grip opposite the handle so its soft when you have to use 2 hands to saw.
