It’s Just Cool: Peeping Norm

I must confess to a strange fascination with the New Yankee Cam. Yeah, it’s a gimmick and I shouldn’t care. I know what it’s like in a shop: projects take more time than you see on the show and there’s a crap-ton of prep and work you don’t see.
But I still find myself checking it out to see all the prep work and the small army of production staff it actually takes to make the New Yankee show come to life. It’s maddening, though, to see how clean the shop is at all times, and you never see anyone with sawdust on them — ever. Just once I would like to tune in and catch a makeup artist dusting Norm’s hair with a whisk broom or see sawdust boot prints on the floor.
Then again, I bet that’s what they had in mind when they put the cam up.

That’s why I prefer Roy Underhill. His shop is a mess, he’s always injuring himself (and others, like his poor wife!) and he can’t find things or drops them. Far more like real life.

I love the idea of this - does anyone know if there is a set schedule? I guess they must work at least some ‘normal’ hours but it’d be nice to know when the shop wasn’t going to be empty

The shooting schedule is located under right under the cam on the New Yankee site.
