Dealmonger: A Denali 10″ Compund Miter Saw For $60
By Stephen Cooke
Amazon is selling this Denali 10″ Compound Miter Saw right now for $60 with free shipping. Sure, it’s not the finest miter saw you’ll find, but hey — if you’ve got $60 spare dollars, you can have a miter saw! It’s got a 14 amp motor, adjusts from zero degrees to 47 degrees with five positive stop positions, and includes a one-year warranty.

I’m trying to avoid falling into something that’ll net me a “well whaddya expect for $60″, but is that base metal? It almost looks like a dense plastic base with an aluminum table. I checked Amazon and it doesn’t say what the base is made out of.

Yes, the base is metal, I have this saw but have not used it yet though

I have this saw. It is all metal housing but it is fairly cheap metal. The motor is quite loud but it seems to cut fairly accurately. I have used it to cut some laminate flooring, 2×4 studs, and PT lumber and it does alright, if you put in the right blade. The 60T blade that came with it worked pretty well on the laminate, just turn the flooring so that it doesn’t chip. Like most of the cheap tools, not something I would want to try and make a living using, but for DIY stuff, church outreach/mission projects and the like it is pretty good.

I just got it for $40.97 w/ FS (cheapest yet) on Amazon yesterday. It’s still showing that price this morning.

I ordered this saw but have a problem. The manual included with the saw was NOT the manual for the saw! The manual included in the box was for a different model sliding saw made by Icon (not even Denali).
So, does anyone have contact information for Denali who manufacturers the saw? I’d like to get a copy of the manual so I can set it up and start using it.
Thanks in advance.

According to the papers that came with my Denali mini-screwdriver, it was actually manufactured by Great Neck Saw Mfrs., phone 866-328-3675. I checked http://www.greatnecksaw.com and they don’t list Denali as one of their brands, so there’s a chance that Great Neck made the screwdrive but someoe else makes their miter saw. Worth checking though!

Leslie, thanks for the info but that did not work for me. I tried calling the phone number you gave a couple of times but it never went through. I did go check the website and called one of the phone numbers listed but they said they do not make Denali saws.
Does anyone else have some contact info?

You could always ship it back to Amazon and have them send you another one.
If there was the wrong manual in there, it may suggest that it’s a saw that someone else returned. Know what I mean? How did the packaging look?

The packaging looked fine and factory sealed to me. As for exchanging it, there are no more in stock. And it doesn’t sound like they will be getting any more (at least according to the Amazon rep).
I’m just guessing the real manufacturer of this saw also sells some tools under the Icon brand name and the manual ended up in there. Oddly enough I just checked the Icon manual and it doesn’t even have any contact info in it!
