I have a 14.4v Hitachi drill/light combo that is going on 4 years old now. Both still work fine. The light is A+ good, even after being abused by my 1 and 3 year old.

You guys can go ahead and delete this comment, and the one that I posted at 3 am that says "awaiting moderation". That comment was about two decent Hitachi deals @ amazon but they're sold out already at the "Friday sale" price.

Seems like a good deal, especially for an 18v version. I am skeptical about the flashlight, to me I would go for the drill without the combo, unless the pricing wasn't there.

I'm pretty sure this is the same set you can buy at Sam's Club. I think the price was $99 there when I last saw it. I always wonder how good it was. I have a Dewalt DW759KA compact 18V as my "everyday" drill. I really needed a hammer drill, and ended up getting that GMC A2G at Amazon that was on sale for 37 bucks shipped. It's okay but I still need a real hammer drill.

For those of you wanting to pick up a Hitachi drill on sale, check out Amazon's friday sale.

They've got a 14.4V 2 tool combo kit on sale for $90.
http://www.amazon.com/Hitachi-KC14DVF-14-4-Volt-Ni-Cad-Cordless/dp/B000BS1SEI
14.4V drill, 300 in-lb of torque, w/ I believe a 3/8" chuck (DS14DVF3) and a 6.5" circular saw, lantern + battery(ies) & charger!

There's also an 18V drill deal but for $52 it's probably already out of stock.
http://www.amazon.com/Hitachi-DS18DVB-18-Volt-Ni-Cad-Cordless/dp/B00005B49E/
18V, 3/8" chuck, 350 in lb of torque, and flashlight. It's of the pre-splatter design, but for $52, who cares!

I don't know if I should mention this or not, but I'll go ahead anyways.

A few days ago they had this combo going for much lower - it was their "deal of the day". I put an order in for it and then drove to Sears to return the 19.2V combo kit I bought two months ago (I wasn't 100% satisfied with it anyways).

I came back and started to fill out the submit a tool form, but all of the Hitachi's were sold out by about noon.

Around the net, people said that they picked this up for $62 or so last spring, so it might be reduced to a good deal in the future. Amazon's other drill deals seem pretty good, but most of them are aimed at contractor/professional budgets.

At $100, it's still a good deal, but $70 was better.
