Doh! Cheap DIY Shop Lift

This guy takes home the “I can build that myself –  I don’t need to spend cash for tools“ award.  What’s really funny is that they propped that truck up then stood back and said, “Yeah, this seems like a good idea.  Let’s get that welder plugged in and over here.“

Just because you can doesn’t always mean it’s a good idea.

Makes you wonder–how did he get it up halfway in the first place? If he had a jack strong enough and big enough to lift half of a car, while still unsafe, it would be better to just do the repairs on the jack.

At least he has a block behind the rear wheel….you know, for safety.

I saw this a couple years ago at the Naval Safety Center website

It’s good for a weekly laugh.

In addition to the “floor lift,” take a look at what he is welding on…

That’s my favorite part — he appears to be welding the GAS TANK.

Really makes you wonder how he’s lived so long.
    Natural selection at work.

Those trucks don’t mass all that much. half a dozen hefty guys could tip it onto the “jack stands” no problem.
