MikeR.

I know this is going to sound dumb, but I have to say it. I would rather spend the extra money on something American made at Sears then sending more money to China. China is already rumored to have a ONE TRILLION DOLLAR U.S. cash reserve. Why help more than you have to?

Another way to go with these is an impact adapter set from HF. Theoretically they would be stronger than a standard set which would be a good thing when reducing from 3/8 to 1/4, etc. Plus they are cheaper. I've got a set of the HF ones and they are working out well so far.

Craftsman Tools, Yes!

You don't have to worry about braking the rachet because you can take it back and get another free!

If the fastener is going to brake using a 3/8" rachet instead of a 1/4" rachet it would probably brake anyway.

Go for it! Craftsman the best deal you can get for the money!

I have two sets of socket adapters and they are pretty handy. I have a fair number of socket sets, but I could probably due for getting a few more sets. Til then it is socket adapters to the rescue! Anything that extends the range, and usefulness of the tools that I already possess is scrumdillitiousness to me. Mmmm-mmm good for me, good for you.

Tools are nice, but I already have a lot of tools now, it is the accessories that really get my blood pumping anymore. All the real stylish folks know that the key is in being able to accessorize properly. heh

That'll work for me with a lowly 3/8" ratchet and some miscellaneous sockets, that will really help me. Someone remind me not to use it with a power screwdriver though. Speaking of that, I found a 1/4" hex (for power screwdriver) with a small chuck on it--for using small drill bits with a power driver--but you could also use it to hold miscellaneous bits / sockets / really anything cylindrical--into a 1/4" ratchet.
